Berwaldhallen strengthens artistic leadership with two international names
The Swedish Radio Concert Hall Berwaldhallen is strengthening the artistic leadership of both the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Swedish Radio Choir. Fanny Robilliard becomes the new 1st Concertmaster of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, while Marc Korovitch takes on an expanded role as Associated Choral Director and Vocal Advisor for the Swedish Radio Choir.
With two internationally active musicians and leaders in central roles, Berwaldhallen is taking another step in the development of its ensembles. Fanny Robilliard joins the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra as 1st Concertmaster, alongside Malin Broman. At the same time, Marc Korovitch’s assignment with the Swedish Radio Choir is being extended and strengthened, giving him the title of Associated Choral Director and Vocal Advisor.
Fanny Robilliard has a broad international background as a soloist, chamber musician and concertmaster. She has studied and worked in France, Munich and Berlin, including at the Karajan Academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker, and has appeared as guest concertmaster with orchestras including the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and Orchestre de Chambre de Paris.
“After many years of dedicated searching, we are very pleased to have recruited Fanny Robilliard as the new 1st Concertmaster of the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra. This position is central to the orchestra’s artistic direction and leadership, and being able to fill it now, after one of the two positions has been vacant for several years, is an important and very welcome step forward for the organisation,” says Josef Beltzikoff, Orchestra Manager.
Marc Korovitch has been associated with the Swedish Radio Choir since 2018 and is regularly engaged by leading choirs and orchestras in Europe and internationally. His new role as Associated Choral Director and Vocal Advisor means a deepened responsibility for the artistic and vocal development of the Swedish Radio Choir.
“Marc’s musical and vocal expertise has become increasingly important to the choir as a whole. He has the ability to bring out the very best in the singers and help them sing as expressively as they can. With his warmth and great musical competence, we look forward to continuing this development together,” says Helene Stureborg, Head of Artistic Planning for the Swedish Radio Choir.
”The recruitment of Fanny Robilliard and Marc Korovitch strengthens Berwaldhallenís artistic leadership. The fact that both have chosen to join the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Swedish Radio Choir, in competition with the finest international ensembles, reflects the high level we have, something I am very proud of,” says Staffan Becker, General Manager at Berwaldhallen, Swedish Radio Concert Hall.
